Antoinette Emanuel
¡Hola!, I'm Antoinette Emanuel, a Miami-based interior designer with a specialty in restaurants, and a native of Lima, Peru. Over 13 years ago, I met restaurateur Juan Chipoco. He was looking for a designer for his first Peruvian restaurant - the famous Cviche 105 - located in Miami's old downtown area. At the time, I didn't know much about restaurant design. So I said to myself: "I'm going to design a place where I want to take my girlfriends for brunch!" From that day on, restaurant interior design became my specialty. Soon after, I designed Pollos y Jarras, Finka, Amelias' 1931, & Vista Restaurant, to name a few. I now direct projects nationally & internationally: in the United States, South America, and Europe.
While I have international design experience, I also have a deep understanding of the local culture and Miami style. I believe that the most distinctive restaurants in Miami are those that incorporate the local flavor into their projects through the use of ambient lighting, tropical accents, custom colorful furniture, and unique murals created by local artists. Spaces as a whole have their own characteristics and personalities, and they have a lot to say. My job is to listen to each of them and let them guide the design. I am proud of how successful all my restaurants have become; I like to think my designs have something to do with that!
